Dervish Battledress
The Dervish Battledress is the standard armor and uniform of the dancing dervishes of Léchelle.
The battledress is a historical style of dress from when Léchelle, Hanwe, and Dione were all part of the same kingdom. When the order of the dancing dervishes were revived in Léchelle, so were the style of dress and standard weapons.
Design
The battledress is designed to allow movement and flexibility. It hosts a high neckline, bishop sleeves, a basque waistline, an a-line skirt with side splits. Designs have styles unique to different regions within Léchelle as well as to mark different identifications for units such as different dance teams or dance troops. Colours vary based on the same differences. There are also some ceremonial designs used or parades or incorporated into religious practices. Some updates have been made with the styles to modernize it. Much of the usual designs also share similar styles with various casual outfits. It is an intentional design to permit the dervishes to meld into crowds or be disguised as necessary when on mission or scouting whether they are trying to be undercover or not.
Materials
The materials differ based on necessity. Lighter armored skirts made of enchanted silks and leather up to larger leather and chainmail woven within the fabrics to make for a surprisingly effective armor. The rest relies upon a dervish's natural dexterity to avoid blows or deflect with their chakrams or scimitars. The flowing silk skirts with a scimitar and shield, dual scimitars, or dual chakrams lets the dervish deflect with weapons and their battledress armor.
