Haggle-sign

Haggle-sign is a wordless sign language used by merchants throughout the Desert of Desolation. The merchants clasp hands, and their offers and counteroffers are made through the patterns drawn with their fingers on the others' hand, and the pressures they apply to different parts of the hand. The clasped hands are usually concealed by flowing sleeves, or sometimes a drape of thin fabric.   The language is unrelated to what is being said or gestured, and the verbal conversation is often filled with insult and riposte. A haggler gains respect if they can be seen to carry on an extravagant conversation which has no bearing on the haggling at the same time.
