Dwarf
They are the third mortal race after Humans and Elves and are the known as the toughest and most sturdy of the races. Most of the Dwarven strongholds are in the eastern part of the continent but there are Dwarven enclaves to be found populated regions of Zahura. Dwarves are the longest lived of the races and according to legend they were able to reincarnate in their ancestral mountain and begin a new cycle and retain some of their former memories. But their mountain has been lost along with many things around the time of the Sundering. Due to their longevity, Dwarves are known to value leaving a legacy, especially in terms of material objects. Though Dwarven smiths and stonemasons are widely known, there are a great many Dwarves that create works of art, or take up a trades such as baking or brewing. Usually whatever they choose, by the end of their lives they usually obtain a mastery of that craft. In the Divine Hand cosmology, Dwarves are associated with Stone. As the longest lived mortal race many Dwarves live between 400-500 years, and a handful have lived to nearly 600 years.
Playing a Dwarf
Longevity defines the Dwarven experience. With lives spanning centuries, they strive to leave a lasting legacy through their crafts or their deeds. Dwarves value honor, tradition, and dedication in their work and their relationships, often leading to lifelong or generation commitments. Yet, a Dwarf against type may reject the pursuit of mastery, preferring to be a jack-of-all-trades. They could be seen as capricious and flexible, quick to adapt their deals and commitments, a stark contrast to the traditional Dwarven steadfastness.
