Fertile Valley
Fertile Valley is a loose term used for the area encompassing the five main rivers that flow through the eastern part of the continent. This area is the main landmass that the empire consists off - and as the name suggest, it also has the most fertile land in the region thanks to the proximities to the aformentioned rivers. This is also where the first cilivisation of Veronians settle and the remnants of their culture can be still discovered in some remote places here.
This area is the most important one in the region and it is considered to be the treasury of the people - this is where majority of the food is produce and depending on how well or how poorly the harvest is doing, you can predict how well or poorly the country will be doing overall for decades to come. Should a disaster struck, these areas are usually among the first to be rebuild (after frequent floods for example) simply for the fact that the survival of the entire country depends on it. Despite the risks that come with rural life, should you be reborn as a peasant in the enxt life, wish to be reborn here as farmers working on the fields here are generally regarded as a blessing to the nation as without them, there would be no food - and worse, no tea as well - and as such there would be nothing to govern as there would be no people at all.
As far as the landscape goes there is nothing remarkable about it, you can gaze upon the rolling green hills, on the golden fields, the solitary trees and an occassional forest patch and the quaint little wooden houses of the farms. The Fertile Valley has been depicted in many poems and paintings as the idyllic place of life.
Thank you for reading my world!
I used Summer Camp this year to generate new ideas that I can explore and play around with in the months to come. All of my articles are first drafts, little sketches that need further development.
