Crescent Sea
They say nothing is more treacherous than the Crescent Sea, except woman's words. But should you really listen to what sailors say? When it comes to sea navigation, most likely yes. When it come to the experiences with women, you better ask women.
Crescent Sea as the name suggest is the sea closest to the continent and envelops it like a long blue crescent. With its unpredictable weather, steep dangerous waves and monster fish lurking just beneath the surface, it is considered to be the most dangerous location to be in the entire empire. Which is why most people prefer to stick being on land, instead of risking anything on these salty treacherous waters.
And yet there are some who still dare and then there are the pirates that are presumably running away from something even worse than the sea, considering they chose to cross it to get all the way to here. Pirates unfortunately are not really willing to chat about life, unless it is about you offering them a lot of gold, if they chose to spare yours.
While most of the islands in the Crescent Sea remain uninhabited, thanks to their disappearing nature, there are some that are more permanent and host a bunch of specialised fishing settlements, that are unlike anything you can see in the lands of the empire. The conditions they live in are harsh, but imperial fleets and pirates leave them be, because you never know when you might find yourself stranded and in need of good food and a shelter to recover in. And their cuisine is unlike anything else - you would not even recognise some of the things that they can conjure up from fish. If you are brave enough to dare, these islands are worth visiting just for that.
Thank you for reading my world!
I used Summer Camp this year to generate new ideas that I can explore and play around with in the months to come. All of my articles are first drafts, little sketches that need further development.
