Red Brick Rooms, Alnea
- Red Brick Rooms are known widely throughout Alnea, the single most important invention that came from the Old Empire. This is because of it’s unique ability to slow bleeding from open wounds, heal cuts and large wounds instantly, cure headaches and the feared Shimmer disease, and substantially improve one’s mental health.
- There are only 13 Red Brick Rooms on the entire continent, each within a major port city or capital. There used to be hundreds, however the famine and subsequent revolt of 1607 led many to be destroyed so that the enemy couldn't use them, as well as to harvest the Karbon bricks to make magic resistant shelters.
- Red Brick Rooms have now become a prized commodity, something to be owned and profited off of. Of the 13 rooms, 11 are privately owned by nobles, army, or guilds that charge anywhere from 2-10 gold coins (around 500-2500 USD) per use, depending on where they are located.
- The other 2 remain public, free of charge to anyone who needs it. The lines to use these 2 rooms are extremely large, with some people waiting for up to a week. Of course, you could always bribe the first person in line for use if it’s an emergency, such as Shimmer disease.
How does it do that?
- While no one is positive as to how the Red Brick Rooms heal people, it is speculated that the position, dimensions, and perfect circular shape of the rooms reflect large quantities of Myathron particles, which in turn speeds up any spell cast within the room.
Architecture
- Red Brick Rooms are made from an almost depleted natural resource known as Karbon, which was fastened into exactly 20,001 bricks of equal size, shape, and weight by unknown means. Karbon’s unique ability to block and deflect Myathrons instead of allowing it to pass through makes it an invaluable resource against magical attacks.
- The rooms are exactly 10’ wide, 10’ long, and 10’3” tall, perfectly circular in shape, with no windows and a door made from one slab of Karbon.
- Due to its old age, the Red Brick Rooms have started to crumble and collapse, and because Karbon is both incredibly rare and insanely expensive, people fear that within 50 years, all the Red Brick Rooms on Alnea will fall apart, leaving millions without the healthcare they need.
