The Lords' Alliance

See also: Helix Heists: Lords' Alliance   The Lords' Alliance has largely been of little interest to our heroes in the past, as so few of them interacted with figures high-profile enough to know anyone in the organization, let alone had thought of meeting one of its representatives themselves. Though Sylvain doubtless had clients and acquaintances connected to the alliance, and Osrin, Ayduin, and Bodaway all likely interacted with those connected to it in some capacity due to their various jobs and organizational ties, think of the Lords' Alliance like the G7. You've all heard of it and been affected by its actions, but it hasn't really been part of your social sphere to date.   Sometimes referred to as the Council of Lords, the Lords' Alliance represents the interests of major cities along the Sword Coast, as well as across the North and Western Heartlands. Notable member states include Waterdeep, Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, and Silverymoon. Originally formed to oppose the Zhentarim and the Shadow Thieves of Amn, it continues to defend member states against external threats. In recent years, The Coalition has been a point of particular concern, though many believe the organization is still in no position to present a meaningful threat to the Alliance.   Though the alliance has the capacity for military action and has undertaken it in the past, the bulk of its work is usually in the form of trade agreements, pledges to one another, and diplomatic missions. For smaller acts of violence, the alliance will typically hire adventurers to further their interests, from information-gathering to raids on their enemies.
