Mike

Childhood

Mike was born of a human mother and a duskblood father who was half nephir and half v'lur. His bond with his mother was very special, and one of the things he cherished the most. His father, on the other hand, was the opposite. As they both practically hated each other. The only reason they wouldn't fight was because they didn't want to upset the one person they both loved; his mother.

Living in the human world, he was taught the way of humans. And due to the bad relationship with his father, never became curious about his maiaak and vampire side or history. Mike was content with living just as any other human. Unfortunately, due to being duskblood, he couldn’t ignore all aspects of his maiaak and vampire side. Learning that he does need to ingest blood from time to time, just not as much as any other vampire. And he only seemed to have the taste for raw meat. To fit in with standard norms of the human society, he would usually only eat meat that could be served rare out in public, or not eat at all.

One day, his mother was killed, causing Mike to lose the one thing that stood in his father's path of hatred. And her death only made them hate each other more. Knowing he couldn't really counter his father, Mike ends up running away. After a year he comes back, only to find the house abandoned. His father only came around to tend to the house when necessary. After Mike's return, he came back home less often. A sudden change in action, while his father refused to see Mike, he did start to make sure that Mike was properly taken care of.

The Red Moon Event

While in his teens, Mike spent most of his time at the outskirts of the city where the vampire community in his particular area stayed. While he hung out with the vampires, he never showed interest in learning about their history, culture, or magic. He was simply there on patrol to make sure things didn't get out of hand. While he didn't intend to get attached to any of them, it didn't stop them from getting curious thus getting close to Vence and his sister, Vena, and Nakaru. Vence was known for his magic spells that were mainly AoE and his medical studies. Vena was known for her voice. Both beautiful and destructive. And Nakaru's barriers were the best anyone has ever encountered. He even decided to give Mike a helping hand, by casting a barrier around their community if something was to happen, it would be concealed.

Through his new found companions, Mike learned of the civil war at hand. The King was determined to take over the human world. And while some agreed, others believed it should be left alone or else the scales of the food chain would be tipped - turning into a disaster. Mike had no interest in the war. However the same men that had killed his mother was after him; wanting to bring him to the King so that they could use him as a weapon.
