Thaet Hjemsteds
Thaet Hjemsteds, "the homesteads," is the name of the region encompassing the eastern bays of Meyjakh Hwell and the fruitful iegs off the coast. Homes and neighborhoods are largely human-made, and passed down from one generation to the next. Families are tight-knit although the people are free spirits, yet dutiful, and there is plenty of work to be done, including logging, fishing, growing vegetables, and cultivating fruit crops of grapes, apples, peaches, plums, kiwi, and cherries. The rivermouth towns of Theyvith and Southtrees have grown from the logging industry, along with their downstream island villages of Bundel, Grindel, and Plant. The city of Felsuvn has risen in the area, although its source of growth being from the dwarf-led stonecutting industry and the human-led transportation and marketing of said stone.
Geography
Characterized by the fast-flowing rivers and coniferous trees of the Rising Pinelands, with its elevation change and steep ground all the way to the Bay of Logs beneath down to Felsuvn's stone-cut port protected by lithic barriers.
History
Thaet Hjemsteds was originally a wild expanse first settled by human homesteading loggers, whose population and businesses grew into the logging towns of Theyvith in the north and Southtrees to the south. Felsuvn grew out of the more-open dwarves and entrepreneurial humans and gnomes around the stone industry.
