Loch Shyn
Loch Shyn, "Mind Lake," (Elvish: Llynsaffyren) is fed via underground river from Loch Chocor, and is surrounded on three sides by the Forenthir Highlands and their cliffs which tower over the lake, and on the southeast corner is connected to the Caradda Forest which sits below. Sapphires are said to be able to be found beneath the famously-blue waters.
Geography
Surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, and forested on the other.
Localized Phenomena
Sapphires glow blue under the light of a full moon when it shines on the surface of the water, which is only during certain times of the year when the moon is directly overhead due to the adjacent cliffs on three sides.

Tourism
Human and dwarvish gem-hunters seek the lake's sapphires, although elvish authorities prohibit the extraction of these gems.
