Flagmullie
Flagmullie is a town located halfway between Wynmollen and Poldervale, known for its inns, winds, kites, flags, sail-making, and clandestine cross-land shipping, utilizing makeshift, temporary methods like rowboating and carriaging cargo across the isthmus.
Flagmullie is a colorful and friendly town and enjoys a balmy, breezy climate, thanks to the low elevations and the nearby ocean to the east and west. The town has grown as it is situated on a chokepoint for travel north and south, from Wynmollen to and from Poldervale and the villages of northern Tatsch, the "Wing of the Dragon."
In recent years, there have been suggestions to build a canal to allow ships to sail through Flagmullie, but to the destruction of most of the town. As a result, the local resident humans and halflings have grown loud and proud of their colorful town, and have ramped up the pomp to raise awareness and be a little more bold and flashy.
Demographics
Mix of Tatschian humans and halflings, in coexistence with a blended culture, which is more characteristic of the north as opposed to the more-separated rest of Tatsch Hwell.
Government
Mix of shopkeepers, merchants, and business owners, along with artisans who have connections to the nearby Town-of-Banners.
Infrastructure
Cross-isthmus roads which strattle east-west and are designed for carrying cargo, featuring rudimentary docks on either coast, despite the infrequent use. North-south roads which are well-traveled, connecting Wynmollen and Poldervale.
History
Flagmullie, from the start, grew as a mixed human-halfling settlement, spilling out of/settling outside of Town-of-Banners which is more limited in its ability to grow and support a larger population. As the roads were blazed and paved, people moved out of Town-of-Banners to set up shop and take care of travelers, as well as tend the fertile fields.
