Episode 5

After the Opening, the episode begins with Sophia looking exhausted as she drives Kellie and Will to the next town. Sophia slowly falls asleep and starts veering off the road before Kellie has to wake her and Sophia snaps up and steers back on the road. Kellie asks "Why are you so tired today?" "(Sophia sleepy) well after yesterday's practice session, I had to reimburse the farmer who's fertilizer we used for training. So I stayed up at night growing his crops and using most of my energy and got little sleep. I definitively need a nap when we arrive at town." Kellie looks upset but doesn't object. The scene jumps to Kellie and Will at a hotel room looking out a window with Sophia sleeping in the background. Kellie looks up and and sighs in disappointment "aw, Olyn isn't out today." Kellie lays her head on her arms and looks upset. Will notices and asks "You seem unhappy, what's that matter?" "(Kellie) Well yesterday while we were training we seemed to be doing good until we got to Florakinesis and I couldn't do it, I'm afraid to do more magic this lesson and find out that I have already hit my limit." "(Will sympathetic) Well from what you have shown me you can already do a lot of cool tricks which is far more than most normal people." "(Kellie lightening up) yeah I guess." Sophia in the background gets up and announces "Ok I have rested, let's go have dinner so we can start our lesson" as she walks out of the room. Will and Kellie turn around and follow her out. The scene jumps to the three of them standing out in a field. Sophia begins "Hey Will could you leave, we need to do our lesson and we don't want you distracting us (she winks)." "(Will nods) Yeah ok (He turns around and begins to leave)" "(Sophia) we don't you have some fun and do something that makes you happy while we train and meet back with us within maybe 4 hours or so." Will nods again and leaves. Kellie pipes up once Will leaves "Do you like Will? like a crush?" "(Sophia sighs) no, he's very nice and kind and his dopiness can be cute sometimes but he has these moments which make him feel alien almost. I've asked him about it sometimes but he acts as though he doesn't know himself which he says honestly and usually tells me everything he does know but there is definitely something." "(Kellie) do you not like him, cause you seemed to not want him present for the lesson." "(Sophia surprised with the question) oh no, I just don't like people watching me work. At least when I am not trying to do a performance. I just get this nagging feeling that I'm being judged so I would just rather he not watch me while I teach you." "(Kellie nods understandably) oh ok, what are we going to learn next?" "(Sophia) well I thought I could teach you Thermokinesis. Thermokinesis encapsulates both Cryokinesis, the decreasing of temperature; and Pyrokinesis, the raising of temperature. We are going to practice with lighting and distinguishing a candle." "(Kellie disappointed), I already know how to use a Magic Candle." "(Sophia) no we will not be lighting just a Magic Candle, but a NORMAL candle (she waves her hands to add bizazz)" "(Sophia confused) oh, well if people can remotely light and extinguish normal candles then what's the point of Magic Ones?" "(Sophia) well those use really basic magic that anyone can use meanwhile this requires above average magic potential and the ability to use Thermokinesis. Now let's get started." The camera shifts to Will wondering through town and the audience can hear him think "Something fun or that make's me happy, well I enjoy hanging out with my friends but that is off the table since I don't want to burden Kellie's lessons." Will swivels his head rapidly quickly analyzing his surroudings for a solution before he locks onto a couple of kids eating ice cream. Kid "I am so glad that we were able to hang out and eat ice cream. It so much fun to eat ice cream and hang out." Will's eyes flicker as he processes what the kids says, he then moves his head to the ice cream store the kids are walking out of. Will enters the store and announces "I will have one ice cream please." The man behind the counter tilts his head confused "Ok, uh what flavor would you like?" Will's eyes flicker for a moment "I'll have whatever flavor is the most fun and or makes you the most happy." "(Store Clerk Confused) I guess I will just give you vanilla (He scoops out a scoop of vanilla and puts it in a bowl). Will that be all sir?" Will nods and pays for the ice cream after receiving the bowl. He picks up the scoop of ice cream with his hand and gently places the entire scoop into his mouth until closing his mouth. He then audibly gulps down the entire thing. He also takes a towel out of his bag to clean his gloves and puts the rag back in his bag. He then waits for a moment before concluding "I do not feel any more happy than before" "(Store Clerk concerned) oh I'm sorry to hear that..." "(Will monotone with a thousand yard stare) those kids lied." He then turns around and walks out of the store with the clerk completely lost. Will can be seen walking through town again thinking "In hindsight, expecting happiness from consumption of a food was going to fail anyway since I lack the ability to taste. I'll need to find another reference on obtaining happiness or fun. Perhaps I should ask someone for assistance (Will then turns to a particularly rich looking fellow but immediately gets cut off by the rich man before he can even ask his question)." "(Rich man prideful) I'm busy, whatever you want you can go find it in the slum district now leave me alone peasant (He walks away)." "(Will) Despite his condescending demeaner, he helped me with what I was looking for without me even asking, maybe he has mind reading magic although I don't remember any reference to such a magic existing. Either way, I shall continue my search in the slums district." Will then moves to the slums district, upon arriving, he goes back to scanning his surroundings until he catches a group of punks talking. Punk "Yo that place was fantastic, I have never felt so good bef0re." "(Will thinking) Feeling good has a strong association with feeling happy, I've found my lead (Camera stays still as Will walks forward out of shot, it then moves back to watching the punks but now with Will among them). Excuse me but could you advise me on what you speak of in terms of "Feeling Good"." "(Punk freezes a bit confused before answering) are you referring to what we were talking about early? (Will nods) Well as much as I would pound you for eavesdropping, I am in a good mood so I'll tell you. It is called [Insert Brothel Name Here] and it's down that street (Points to street)." "(Will nods) thank you gentlemen (Will walks off leaving the camera with the punks)." "(Punk) Wacko." The camera goes to Will scanning the area as he walks through the streets until he locks onto a building with a sign which matches the name that he was given. Will "This is the place which has the name I was given." The camera follows Will as he enters the building. A bell rings as he opens the door and he sees a small desk with an even smaller man behind it, standing on a stool that can't be seen behind the desk. Owner "Welcome my good sir, what can I do for you?" "(Will) I would like to have fun please" "(Owner) Oh you will have plenty of fun here. Just 40 Silver Coins for 30 minutes and you can choose which girl." "(Will calm and logical) Hmm, I need to meet back up with Kellie and Sophia in 3 hours so I'll pay for 3 hours." "(Owner freezes with shock after hearing 3 hours) Of... Course, (He rings a bell and a bunch of women line up) Which one shall you choose?" "(Will) I didn't know I had to choose someone, well (The camera switches to Will's point of view, a box gets highlighted around the first in line and slides between the girls until it stops randomly at one of them in the middle and then Will points at her) I choose her." Her face breaks composure from shock of being picked and the Owner tells her "You have been chosen by this fine gentlemen for 3 hours, good luck Alice." Upon him finishing the camera goes right up to her face as a glass shattering sound affect is heard as she repeats 3 hours in her head from shock. Owner "(to Will) you can sit at one of the booths and when you are ready you can go into one of the booths to get the fun on." Will walks to a booth without showing any emotion while Alice follows completely mind shattered. Will speaks methodically, seemingly unaware of the what's actually going on "I don't see the point in wasting time with the booths if we can initiate the 'fun' straight away, if that is fine with you." Alice gives a weak nod, still shattered from the dread of the 3 hours yet to come. The both enter one of the booths, which is just an empty room with a bed and under dim light from a partially covered Magic Candle. Will, confused on what he is supposed to do "You can start off with the 'fun' and I'll just follow you." Alice, shaking from fear, nods and begins to loosen her shirt. Will interrupts, upset "What are you doing?" She gives a startled "What?" "(Will) Well I surely can't be happy if you look this miserable." "(Alice looks down, still trembling) sorry, I'll try to act more happy." "(Will interrupts) I don't want to pretend to be happy, I want to actually be happy. (Will's eyes flicker for a moment thinking) Ice cream made those kids happy, do you want to eat some ice cream?" "(Alice in disbelief) Are you serious?" "(Will confused) yes? If you don't like ice cream we can do something else..." "(Alice interrupts) Oh no I would love to eat ice cream! I just didn't expect you to request for that, in a place like this." "(Will relieved) oh ok, let's go obtain some ice cream then." Alice nods excitedly and the two of them leave the room and walk out of the place. The Owner sees this and talks to himself "What? It hasn't even been 5 minutes and he already bored of that room? No it must be dirty. (He clenches his fist) Kyle forgot to clean the room, I'm going to kill that kid!" The camera shifts to Will and Alice sitting at a table for two outside of the ice cream store, Alice is the only one with ice cream. Alice then asks Will "So why didn't you get ice cream?" "(Will) I didn't bother after my last trial gave negligible results." Alice nods lost and then continues asking questions "Ok here is my big question, why did you go into that place, especially to just rent out a friend to get some ice cream with?" "(Will) Some people told me that place was 'really good' and I was assigned to do something to make me happy so I assumed that place would make me happy." Alice nods again, even more lost "Did you even know what kind of place you walked into? (Will shakes his head) Huh, well I'm glad you did this for me. I was dying inside when that goblin said 3 hours." "(Will concerned) Oh sorry I didn't mean to cause you harm." "(Alice surprised) Oh no it's alright this is far better than anything I could imagine." "(Will) Then would you say that your happy?" "(Alice leans back, surprised from the question) Oh, well (She looks down sad) I definitively am happy right now but, to just go back into that whore house makes me miserable, sorry didn't mean to kill the mood." "(Will) Well why do you continue, why not do something you are happy doing?" "(Alice) Well I gotta make money, I have to afford food to eat somehow." "(Will) Why not work for something which makes you happy and makes you money, if your just working just to continue to stay unhappy then what's the point?" "(Alice is about to respond before she freezes for a moment to think about it) You know, your right! If I stay where I am I'll just be stuck in an endless loop of misery. I'll quit my job and try being a Singer, it is risky for sure but what's the point if I don't give it an earnest try. Thank you for opening my eyes, I am going to collect my stuff and quit right now and begin my journey (She gets up and runs off with a purpose)." Will watches her as she runs off and then looks back forward. He thinks "I feel good seeing Alice this excited, I have accomplished my mission. However we still have two hours left. I don't think that small man is going to give my my money back for those two hours. I shall use my remaining two hours to see if anyone will pay for assistance. I wonder how Kellie's training if going (He thinks that while standing up and walking off)." The camera shifts to Kellie and Sophia panicking as Kellie's hands on fire. Sophia shouts "I SAID TO JUST LIGHT A SMALL FLAME ABOVE YOUR FINGER, NOT YOUR ENTIRE HAND!" "(Kellie) WELL I WASN'T TRYING TO BURN MY HAND, PUT IT OUT!" "(Sophia) RIGHT RIGHT (She puts forward her hand and quickly opens her palm, causing the fire to extinguish)." Both take a big sigh of relief. Sophia says "Glad we got that under control, but hey, you managed to ignite your hole hand! It sounds counter intuitive but that's good! However you might want to keep that on the back burner until you can find someone actually proficient in Thermokinesis because it's certainly not my specialty. I think that's plenty for today, let's go find Will and tell him the good news." Kellie nods excitedly and the two of them walk back into town. They are both looking around for Will when Sophia spots him hauling a heavy box "(Sophia points) there he is." Will looks over to the two of them and asks "Did you two finish early?" "(Sophia) Yeah you could say that the rest of our lesson went up in flames (Kellie elbows her in annoyance)." "(Kellie excited) I seem to be really good at Thermokinesis, too good that I need to continue training under and expert (she begins twirling her fingers awkwardly) lest I burn myself." "(Will) well that's good to hear--" "(Man, angry) Hey! I'm not paying you to talk to girls, move those boxes!" "(Will turns to the man off camera behind him) Yes sir, (He begins walking while talking) sorry I got to deliver these boxes." Sophia and Kellie walk with him, Sophia asks "Did you accomplish your mission of having fun?" Just as Will opens his mouth to speak, Alice's voice interrupts him "There you are! (She runs over and hugs Will). I was searching all over for you!" "(Sophia confused and lost) I guess so..." "(Alice lets go of Will) I wanted you to know that I quit my job at the brothel--" "(Sophia taken off guard) She quit her job what?" "(Alice) And that I plan on moving to Burheim to begin my career." "(Will) Oh well we were going there too, you should ride with us--" "(Sophia giving a quick excuse) Oh but we simply don't have enough seats what a shame." Alice looks down sad. Will's eyes blink as he thinks for a moment "She could ride in the back of the truck, there should be space for you back there." "(Alice excited) Really?! Thank you so much! (She jumps back on Will to hug him)" Sophia rubs her face in frustration and submits "Fine she can stay in the back but let's try not to pick up any more 'passengers' (She air quotes with her fingers)" "(Man even more mad) HEY! What did I say about talking to girls!" "(Will) Right sorry sir." The episode then ends with the outro playing. After the outro, the scene jumps to a teenage kid named Kyle mopping the floor while listening to a record player of rock, complaining about his work. "(Mocking his boss) You have one job Kyle, do your job Kyle. I do my job, that one guy simply left because those rooms are a bore. If I was the boss I would at least spruce it up with some paintings to add some atmosphere. While I'm at it, I would also remove the dumb carpet and replace those super hard to clean mattresses. I don't think that goblin understands how hard it is to get stains out of those things. I don't even know why I work here, I get treated like garbage, payed almost nothing, and I don't even get see any boobies. Maybe I should leave like that Alice Chick did. Oh but what would I do. Maybe, (He stops mopping and looks up day dreaming) I could go to Unity and visit their art exhibits. That would be nice but its probably out of--" He gets interupted by a shy woman's voice "Can you take me with you?" The camera zooms out to show one of the 'workers' quietly listen to Kyle's ramblings. The camera cuts to black with the last line of dialogue. The last line is Kyle speaking awkwardly "Uh yeah I can take you with me."
