Inquisition Career

The Inquisition serves as the Dominion's vigilant guardian, an uncompromising force dedicated to rooting out heresy, corruption, and threats to the faith. Whether your calling is to enforce the will of the Ecclesia, investigate hidden dangers, or manage the vast and secretive operations of the Inquisition, this path offers a range of roles to shape your destiny and safeguard the Dominion from within and without.

  On entry into career undergo psionic testing and roll for psionics.

Enforcer: Acts as the muscle of the Inquisition.
Investigator: Focus on identifying potential heretics and threats before they can act.
Custodian: Administration, stewardship, and protection of key assets and personnel.

Events


Mishaps Table (1d6):

1 - Severely Wounded: You are gravely injured in the line of duty. Roll with -1 DM on the Injury table (page 49).
2 - Inquisition Judicium: You are accused of heresy or some other corruption by your peers or superiors. Roll Advocate 8+ or PSI 8+. If you fail, you are ejected from this career, lose all benefits, and gain an Enemy within the Inquisition. If you succeed, you are acquitted, but the experience leaves you with a deep-seated distrust—gain one Rival and reduce SOC by 1.
3 - Moral Corruption:You are asked to use your psionic powers or authority in an unethical fashion. Accept and you may continue in this career but gain an Enemy. Refuse and you must leave the career.
4 - Sacrificial Duty: You are ordered to take on a mission or task that requires a significant personal sacrifice. Roll Endurance 8+ or Intellect 8+. If you fail, the strain is too much, reduce END -1 or INT -1 and reduce SOC by 1. If you succeed, you complete the task, but the cost is high—lose an important relationship or gain a Rival.
5 - Investigation Compromised: An investigation goes wrong, stranding you far from home. Gain one of Survival 1, Pilot 1, Persuade 1 or Streetwise 1.
6 - Injured: Roll on the Injury table (page 49).
Events Table (2d6):

2 - Disaster:Roll on the Mishap table but you are not ejected from this career.
3 - Dangerous Investigation: An investigation leads you into perilous circumstances. Roll Investigate 8+ or Streetwise 8+. If you fail, roll on the Mishap table. If you succeed, increase one of these skills by one level: Deception, Persuade, or Tactics (Military).
4 - Ethical Dilemma: You have the opportunity to use your position or powers unethically. If you choose to exploit this, roll PSI 8+ or Persuade 8+. If successful, gain an extra Benefit roll. If you fail, lose 1 SOC.
5 - Community Influence: You are involved in activities that gain the respect of a significant community. Gain +1 Social Standing and an Ally.
6 - Specialist Training: You receive advanced training in a critical field. Roll EDU 8+ to increase any one skill you already have by one level.
7 - Life Event: Roll on the Life Events table (see page 46).
8 - Undercover Mission: You are sent on a covert mission. Roll Deception 8+. If successful, roll immediately on the Rogue or Citizen Events table and make one roll on any Specialist skill table for that career. If you fail, roll on the Rogue or Citizen Mishap table.
9 - Mentorship: A senior figure within the Inquisition takes you under their wing. Gain an Ally and DM+2 to your next advancement roll.
10 - Heresy Discovered: Your actions lead to uncovering a significant conspiracy or threat. Gain DM +1 on any one Benefit roll and a Contact.
11 - Religious Revelation: You experience a profound religious or psionic revelation that changes your outlook. Gain +1 PSI or +1 SOC.
12 - Righteous Act: Your actions result in a major success that brings glory to the Inquisition. Gain +2 Social Standing, an automatic promotion and increase any one skill you already have by one level.
