Orders and the Man

Orders. And the Man...

What and Why?
To make orders more direct and less esoteric, and bring more use to playing as an infantry Squad.
A small but useful benefit to permit your squad to, possibly, survive longer*.
* not guaranteed. at all.

How to Use these Rules

1. Nominate a Squad Leader, normally this is the narrative senior officer or NCO present. If it is not, this should be used for Roleplay Benefit.
2. At the start of an Encounter the Squad Leader generates an Order Pool, of points to use to spend on orders. This is not an action and should be done at the time one calls for Initiative checks or sequence.
3. During play the Squad Leader (and only he or she, these aren't Space Marines), may Call an Order on their initiative turn. Using only one order per turn, unless possessing a Talent that permits more.
4. On calling the order the Squad Leader uses the Activation Cost in Order Points to generate the action. This is a Free, Half or Full Action.
5. Play pauses and those affected take their actions relating to the order out of normal sequence. These actions do not count against their normal turn actions, and may be in any order the PCs wish.  The radius of effect is equal to you Wisdom Bonus in meters.
6. Once the last person affected by the Order has taken their action, play returns to the Squad Leader, and if they have any actions remaining they may use them. If not, then play continues to the next person in initiative rotation.

How Many People are Affected by an Order?
You may issue the order to a number of allies equal to your Fellowship bonus, as long as these Allies regularly train or drill with you.
You may include those who do not meet this criteria, but it cost to equivalent points of Fellowship bonus to include them.
You may spend additional Order Points on a 1:1 basis to include additional people in the Order given.
This last part is meant to reflect that a squad of infantry follows their leaders orders instinctively due to repeated training and experience. A newcomer or outsider will not have as reflexive a response. As normal it is up to the GM to determine who may or may not be included.

Hey, there is no minimum Allowance!
You are right. These are not people being lead by Astartes with decades or centuries of combat experience to draw upon.
Screwing up, and starting with a negative value (adjusted to 0) is possible. You can be merely mortal and make the wrong choices.
Some talents do permit you to trade your initial test for you Int Bonus and similar benefits.

Calculating Your Order Pool:
1. Nominate your Squad Leader.  They must possess the Skills Command and Tactics (any, including Imperialis).
2. Roll a Command (+0) test, you may add any bonuses that would apply to a normal Command test.
3. Note the Degrees of Success on this test.
4. Add +1 Order Point for any bonuses from Talents or Equipment you may possess.
5.  This is you total Order Pool.
