Humans
The myriad Human nations that constitute their interstellar government are disparate, yet united in purpose. These bipedal mammalians have developed a society that encourages and even thrives on individual freedoms and cultural differences - as a result, Humans tend to integrate well with alien populations. Despite this, they have strong martial traditions (produced by millennia of intermittent warfare on their homeworld) and their sometimes aggressive and unpredictable nature should not be underestimated.
Adaptable
Humans are mostly hairless bipedal creatures sharing a deep ancestry with primates. They are highly adaptable, ingeniously clever, and passionate in their interests. Not unlike a virus, humanity has spread out from its point of origin for most of its existence, a trend that has only increased since their discovery of the hyperdrive 50 years ago. Clever and adaptable, Humans show a propensity for overcoming challenges, and are quite adaptable, both mentally and physically, after taming all the native biomes of their homeworld they are now moving on to similarly adapt or adapt to the new environments they meet; planetarly, politically, and perhaps most ominously economically.War and Peace
While not the most aggressive species, Humans are unique in that they are disturbingly well organized with their aggression, putting technologies to work offensively in undreamt of fashions all in the name of their ideal of ‘Weaponization’, to convert every known scientific principle of the universe to work as a tool for warfare. Having dozens, or perhaps hundreds, of political entities and organizations, the humans compete with each other, making war on their own species over things like the color of their flags, different spiritual beliefs, or preferred language. Despite this fractious community even the most aggressive and territorial of human groups will unite against a common outside antagonist.Domination
Ever since the UNE became associates of the Galactic Federation, humans have taken up roles in nearly every facet of the organization. While they don’t out number any other species in any specific area, they collectively make up 27% of the combined personal across the entire organization. This, combined with human’s rapid expansion and colonization of worlds previously believed to be impossible or too costly to support life, their history of aggression, and their unusual but effective solutions to problems have led other members of the Federation to fear that humans are attempting to take full control of the galaxy. The existence of the Commonwealth of Man and its fascist dictatorship, despite not being members of the Federation and being enemies of the UNE, doesn’t help dissuade people from this belief; if anything it often only helps convince them of it.Human Names
Human names come from their various ethnicities and cultures leftover from before unification. Many humans take pride in their ancestry, and are named by their parents in accordance with it. As more and more of human culture merges and mingles, different names from different cultures and ethnicities mix, both first and last names. Some humans give their children names of popular places or people from other cultures, and its common for humans living on alien worlds to adopt the naming conventions of that alien culture.Human Traits
