Reading

Reading takes you on a journey... Reading is escapism... Reading is probably why you're here...

History

For as long as humans have lived on planet earth, stories have existed. For many years, these stories were passed down by word of mouth, but then they began to be recorded on paper. People would write stories and publish them as books so others could read them.   But as computers became more advanced and technology moved forward, less people were writing books, and less people were reading them. In the mid 2000s, people began to drift away from reading and instead consume media such as video and film. But the community of readers never completely went away.

Physical vs Digital Media

As digital media became more pronounced in society, physical media began to fall into the shadows. However, many felt drawn to the comfort provided by physical books in a way that digital media didn't provide.   Books gave them something to hold onto, something that felt real. Some described this as a relief in a world where very little felt real anymore.

A little too close to home, but wonderful.

Thank you! I think ordinary things that are often overlooked are fun to write about in a scifi setting.
