The Time of Silence

The Human historical period that followed the Paradise War, Named as such for the many scattered groups of mankind that did not communicate nor even attempt to for two hundred years for fear of being found by ancient enemies, or new more alien ones.

Once humanity did reach out to itself again, the Gentes had formed. Unique cultures that formed out of the fragments of old, and growing in full life in soil not of earth. They're still human, make no mistake, but many of them view themselves as separate cultures only tangentially related to the other Gentes.

They likely would have remained completely separate entities without the direct intervention of the Colonial Authority, who spent vast amounts of time and resources to first restore Earth, and then track down her wayward children.

It is a near certainty that there are other fragments of the species somewhere out there in the galaxy, who simply have not been found yet. Many tribes have been found on the systems surrounding Sol, but those that landed without the proper equipment or knowledge either died out, or in certain cases; denigrated into more tribal societies.
