Synthetics
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining me here today for a little expose, I know you won't leave disappointed, and I'll start with saying that we have more than enough units for everyone!
First, we have the new Salamander units, taking a bit of inspiration for human myth there, they come in both bipedal and quadrupedal forms, and of course we're willing to do custom orders as well if you have a particular look you want for your security forces. Armor wise, even the base model; plated in high tensile steel that can resist most small arms fire and comparable to the protection granted by a Kartet'ha's scales, will serve well in a security capacity. If one has heavier usage needs, we even offer a polyaramid-alloy weave, as well as a ceramite casing if you have worries about someone attacking you with an anti-tank unit.
The term "synthetic" is the most blanket of blanket titles, and it covers all forms of what one might call robots, automatons, AI, VI, androids, etc. Constructed in a factory and lacking several pillars for the definition of 'life', and you have a Synthetic unit.
They are found across the galaxy in almost every sector, though most notably (and predictably) they show up most in the military and industrial sectors.
Across the whole of the galaxy, the settled spaces at least, AI is legal. As long as it is shackled, and shackled tightly. The powers that be usually attempt to make up for the limitations of a shackled AI by simply throwing more at the problem.
Even the barest suspicion of an unshackled AI is enough to throw the galactic community into an uproar and is one of the few issues that is able to unite the majority—usually the majority versus the accused.
