Nebta

The desert home world of the Kartet'ha , Nebta is constantly bathed in solar radiation, with little break. Almost all life on the planet is gathered around the few spots of water available on the surface, or deep below the sand.

Much of the surfaces deserts sand is comprised of a bismuth-tungsten alloy (though there are other metals and alloys as well), giving it a dark sheen that turns brightly iridescent when it catches the sunlight. Many of the species of the planet, including the Kartet'ha, also have such alloys as part of their biology.

The abundance of easily accessed metals, even if low quality, fueled the metallurgic arts of the Kartet'ha, and their eventual industrialization.
