Malchus
An Old Earth poet whose works continue to inspire humanity to this day.
Nothing much is known about him. Not his birthplace, nor his name. Malchus is a pseudonym, most historians agree. The only thing that really can be determined is that his works were largely produced during the Paradise War, and were popular even then. After the war, he vanishes from the record.
It's unknown if he perished, or simply lost the will to write.
The topics of his writing and poems were varied, but all carried a particular melancholy to them. A sadness brought about by the destruction of the Paradise War, yet still contained a core of hope.
One of his more notable works, The Girl Who Cried the Eclipse, even has a line taken directly from it to act as the motto of the Colonial Authority.
"Grasp the stars, but think of home."
