Arcanist is a mage who uses ritual-based magic, and is considered by many to be one of the foremost experts on such in the world, though she modestly denies it when people tell her that. This means that unlike most superhuman spellcasters, she requires words and gestures to use her magic, but the speed with which she can cast the spells is far faster than most people would believe, making her the equal or better than many other hero magi, as this allows her to use magic without drawing on her personal energy.
