Legionnaire Academy - Tristar Astradia

History of the Legoinnaire Academy

As citizens of the Tristar Empire are well aware, these three academies found on each of the three planets that are part of the Tristar Empire's territory, serve as part of treaty between Tristar and our Guardian Planet on the Primus Line. This treaty allows humans to be self governing so long as our laws do not infringe on the Rights of Personage detailed in the StarLink Charter in exchange for providing a minimum of 20,000 legionnaires to serve in the Primus Legions Alliance (PLA). The Legionnaire Academies, were established by retiring members of Star Force from the PLA. Unlike today, most of the Commanders in the early years of the Academies were not humans.   *Little Fun Fact: with a few expections like Astradia's current Headmaster, most headmasters are promoted to the rank of Commander when they are transferred to the academies, holding the rank of Captain at best during their service.

Academic Calendar and Course Schedule

Academic Calendar

The Legionnaire Academies follow the Interstellar Standard Academic Callendar with 40 weeks of classes broken down into four quarters. While each quarter is 10 weeks in length, each quarter has a midterm break for one week in the middle. In between the four quarters are the Holiday Breaks which are 2 weeks each.   New Years - spans the last and first weeks of the Interstellar Year. At the end of this holiday is the Trainee Trials. (The very event coming soon where trainees will battle in the Arena for ranks.)   1st Equinox - this holiday between the 1st and 2nd quarters is famous for the Interstellar Exchange, where students from other Legionnaire Academies outside of the Tristar Empire can visit and participate in training or competitions with Emperial trainees.   Midyear - while most students go home for this holiday, there are a select few third years in addition to the fourth years who spend part, if not all, of this holiday taking part in the Beast Subjigation Missions throughout the Empire.   2nd Equinox - this holiday break between the 3rd and 4th quarters is known for the Inter-Academy Tournament that is held over the full two weeks. Trainees from all three Legionnaire Academies compete in various fields both individual and squad based. (Mostly for the fourth years in order to demonstrate talent and proficiency in their respective fields to improve their internship options the next year.)

Course Schedule

Meals   Breakfast: 0600 to 0700   Lunch: 1100 to 1200   Dinner: 1900 to 2000   Meals are offered three times a day at the same time everyday of the week. Since meals are only available during this one hour window, trainees' day starts by no later than 0600. Comments from previous trainees stated that most were up around 0500 to complete their basic phyiscal training.   Course Blocks   Students have classes six days a week during four time blocks, two before and two after the lunch hour. Since classes are offered three days a week on alternating days, students take 8 classes a year. This is shown on the course schedule in the Days row with MWF and TES under each year.   MWF - or Moonday, Windsday, and Firesday are Alpha days   TES - or Tidesday, Earthday and Starsday are Bravo days   Block times   A1 or B1: is from 0700 to 0900 (This is when students in their first year take C.C.'s or Core Courses.)   A2 or B2: is from 0900 to 1100 (This is when students in their second year take their C.C.'s.)   A3 or B3: is from 1200-1400 (This is when students in their thrid year take their C.C.'s.)   A4 or B4: is from 1400 to 1600 (This is when students in their fourth year take their C.C.'s.)   During the time between their last class and dinner, students have the option of taking small elective courses or independant studies with instructors, or participating in club activities with their fellow trainees regardless of year.

Courses

Every year 440 students enter the academy in one of four tracks. Warrior, Esper, Healer, and Support.   Warrior - made up of mostly A-types who will focus on learning how to fight physically with various weapons.   Esper - made up of only E-type students who are able to manipulate mana and will spend their academy career learning how to utilize their talents to fight.   Healer - made up of either G-types or T-types who can use their ability to manipulate mana to heal either mental or physical issues respectively.   Support - made up of mostly B-type students, these students will train in various support fields, whether this is making, maintaining, or operating various technology and equipement used in the the Star Force.   In addition to their track courses, trainees take several Core Course with all of the trainees in their respective years.   Core Course Subjects   History and Sociology   International Relations and International Law   Leadership and Ethics   Military History, Tactics and Strategy   Survival Training   Flora, Fauna and Monsters   Logistics, Supply and Weapons

Instructors

There are 35 instructures, 5 in each track and 5 that teach core courses. The lead instructor, like Captain Hart, are responsible for the other four instructors in their respective departments. They also serve as intermediaries for their trainees in arranging for internships both within and ouside of the Empire.

Fifth Year Students - Intership

In their fifth and final year, trainees participate in internships during the school year and rarely take courses lead by instructors, though some complete independant study courses or projects depending on their current grades and desired career path.   Internships can be for 5 or 10 weeks during a quarter, letting trainees participate in up to 8 different internships during their final year. While rare, there are a few trainees who have spend their entire fifth year in the same internship.   Possible Placements   Local Guard Stations - These are responsible for local peacekeeping inside of cities or other settlements.   Outpost Stations - These are responsible for patrolling the Wildlands that are uninhabited and home to various monsters and keeping the monster population under control.   Star Force (PLA) - Top students might shadow or even participate in operations with the Primus Legions Alliance that could be anything from Peacekeeping to Monster Subjugation to Intersellar Crime Subjucations to Interstellar Exploration.   *Little Fun Fact: Sergeant Orion is one of only a handful of students to intern with the PLA and was did so with the same Crime Subjugation Legion that he is currently in.   Hospitals and Clinics - Healing students, both physical and mental healers, often work at major hospicals throughout the Empire.   Research Centers - Trainees can observe or participate in research on Type Genetics, Technology, Mana and More.

Trainee Housing and Squads

Dorm Rooms

Trainees live in one of four barracks buildings depending on what year they are in. These buildings are five story buildings with each floor divided into 12 dorm rooms. Dorm rooms house up to ten students that make up a squad - the most basic unit within a Legion. In between each set of dorm rooms there is a circular stair case that leads up to floors aboce and a shared roof space.   Dorm rooms have a main room for the regular squad members that includes four bunk beds, eight desks, and eight lockers. There is a shared bathroom with six bathroom units that include a sink, shower and toilet. At the front of the dorm is a smaller semi-private room for the two trainees that serve as squad leaders. It includes a bunk bed with a desk underneath and a double locker.

Squads

Squads typically only have 9 members, with one of them being a Squad Leader, but in the case of the academy, this role is shared between two fifth year students. This is primarily due to the fact that one of them are often gone due to their internships. In rare cases both may spend little time on campus. The other eight members are all from the same year.   Squad Leaders - Fifth Years (generally one Warrior or Esper, and one Healer or Supporter).   Squad Members - Two Warriors, Two Espers, Two Healers (one physical and one mental), and Two Supporters.   This combination was developed in order to facilitate the different department trainees in working together. Especially Warriors and Healers (physical), and Espers and Healers (mental), given the common injuries that each often experience throughout their time in the academy.   They are also meant to try and balance out skills between squads for squad based compititions and trainings that are held.

Campus

Map

There are five main buildings to the campus, plus one training area and two residential areas. Since there is no official map, at least for the public, the above representation was created. In the front third of the campus, are the three areas that have been seen by the public as they are regularly opened for events or, in the case of one, can be accessed as a guest. The other buildings and complexes found in the other two thirds are never opened to the public not only for the safety of the trainees and instructors, but for the public as well.

Headmaster: Commander Warren Ray   He is a man who needs no introduction. One of the Heroes of Humanity and one of the select few humans to have reached the rank of Commander within the Star Force. Instead of retiring after sustaining serious injuries in the line of duty, he chose to take over Astradia's Legionniare Academy and lead the training of the next generation of heroes.
Healer Instructor: Captain Lyra Hart Another Hero of Humanity and receiver of many rewards during her time serving in the Star Force alongside Commander Ray. She is now in charge of teaching T-type trainees how to heal all types of physical injuries. She is also in charge of the Medical Center on compus, especially during the upcoming Trainee Trials - one of the few chances outsiders get to enter these three exclusive academies.
Type
Educational, School/Academy
Alumni: Sergeant Cade Orion Graduating in 5680, many might remember him as the top trainee during all five years he attended the academy - even starting his career under the Primus Legion. At 25, he is now the youngest human to reach the rank of Sergeant. For those who pay close attention to Interstellar events, he was part of a large task force that brought down an illegal fighting ring and rescuing a member of Astradia's main families the Ashbournes.
Trainee Shere Ashbourne Perhaps this year's most notorious new trainee - he is the very individual the Sergeant Orion rescued three years ago. According to a statement released by the Ashbourne family, he chose to enter the Legionnaire Academy in order to fight against others who would step on the Rights of Personage that all are owed with accordance to the StarLink Charter. But what makes him notorious is not his surname or his past, but something else. He is the first O-type trainee to ever enter a Legionnaire Academy since the founding of the Tristar Empire.
