Thundershore Fort
The Thundershore Fort is a formidable island kingdom of Thalas, known for its vast, flat grasslands and towering stone walls that encircle the entirety of its arid domain. Within these immense fortifications lies a self-sustaining civilization defined by discipline, isolation, and pride. The Thundershore people are a peaceful yet fiercely protective society, riding across their sweeping plains upon the Gestaltis—massive, native creatures revered as both companions and mounts. Life within the walls is orderly and deliberate, centered around agriculture, craftsmanship, and community. The island’s fertile yet sun-beaten terrain makes it ideal for farming, and over the centuries, this abundance has drawn countless envious eyes. To protect their homeland, the Thundershore built their fort into both symbol and shield, closing themselves off from the chaos of the outer seas.
Trade with outsiders is rare, and most of what the Thundershore produce—grains, fruits, and fine fabrics—is consumed within their own borders. Their ports are heavily guarded, and their powerful navy seldom leaves them, acting solely as a defensive force rather than an instrument of expansion or greed. To see a Thundershore ship upon foreign waters is considered an omen, for it is said that they only depart their homeland under the gravest of circumstances—when war is inevitable or the balance of Thalas itself is threatened. As such, the Thundershore Fort has become both a myth of strength and a warning of silence: a nation content to remain still and unseen, yet capable of shaking the seas should it ever choose to rise.
