Subterrarchy of Achaku

The Subterrarchy of Achaku is the hidden, labyrinthine realm of the Ratkind, a hardy human race renowned for their near-total immunity to disease and toxins.

Deeply religious and intensely disciplined, the Ratkind center their entire society around reverence for the divine gift of resilience that sets them apart. Their faith manifests in a strict doctrine: life must be lived below the surface, far from the vulnerabilities of the upper world. Thus, the sprawling underground nation of Achaku was born—an intricate network of tunnels, chambers, and communal dwellings nestled where other civilizations would cast only sewage and refuse. Above-ground residency is forbidden by sacred law, as the Ratkind believe their survival and purpose are eternally tied to the depths. The Subterrarchy thrives as a sewer-like, secretive yet organized society, proudly enduring where others dare not tread.

Unfortunately, the vanishing of the Time Crystals are causing draining systems in Achaku's great cities to fail, resulting in flooding from the heavy rain and and coasts of crashing waters of the region. If this continues, entire cities could end up completely submerged.
