Portal of Dulmialith

The Portal of Dulmialith, often shortened to Dulmialith, is a kingdom unlike any other—built atop the floating cliffs and jagged skybound rocks that encircle a massive sinkhole in the crust of Lucis. This gaping chasm plunges endlessly into clouds and darkness, eventually leading to Helenir, the subterranean inferno ruled by the Hel-Born. Ages ago, when the Hel-Born first threatened to ascend, the nations of Lucis forged an alliance and consecrated Dulmialith as a military bastion, meant to stand between the surface and the flame-scorched armies below. Now, Dulmialith serves as both fortress and kingdom, where every home is a watchtower, and every citizen is trained in combat from youth. Its people are bound by honor and survival, chosen from the fiercest bloodlines and trained in aerial warfare, cliffside combat, and elemental resistance.
Among them are the Drake-Hatchers, revered caretakers who rear dragons from egg to flight, forging lifelong bonds between rider and beast. Even newborn dragons, barely out of their shells, are expected to take to the skies and defend Dulmialith’s jagged skyline from invading Hel-Born. The floating archipelago of Dulmialith is stitched together with bridges of metal and magic, humming with runes that resist the pull of gravity, forming a network of strongholds and hatching grounds. Life here is perilous but sacred, and its people—gritty, proud, and bound by flame—are the unsung sentinels of Lucis, ensuring the horrors below never consume the world above.
