Kellasis

Kellasis is a dune-ridden floating island that hovers high above the southeastern reaches of the Cicadea continent, suspended miles above the earth amidst drifting clouds and perpetual mist.   Hidden from the eyes of those below for a time in history, the island’s existence remains the subject of awe and legend. Its origin lies in a cataclysmic event cloaked in mystery—an ancient catastrophe that tore a region of land from the earth and cast it into the sky. Those who inhabited the land at the time found themselves trapped in the heavens, unable to descend. And yet, against all odds, they endured.   Over generations, Kellasis evolved into a flourishing kingdom, its people isolated but undeterred, shaping a distinct culture, rich history, and skybound society that continues to thrive far above the world below.
