Granblanc Plains
Granblac Plains is a nation in Lucis dedicated to nurturing and restoring the balance of nature. Nestled within the vast white-sand plains of the same name, the region is home to the Blancshark, a native creature that burrows through the sand with incredible speed. These majestic beasts feed on clams, oysters, and other burrowing shellfish hidden beneath the dunes. Yet, their survival has long been threatened by the very sands they inhabit. The unique composition of Granblac’s white sand causes it to absorb water rapidly, draining it almost entirely down to the strongrock layer—a foundation so deep it nearly breaches the molten depths of Helenir. This natural phenomenon once devastated the region’s ecosystem, driving the Blancshark to the brink of extinction.
In response, pioneers from Zeldinautica brought forth the use of advanced solar technology, developing giant airborne blimps capable of collecting precipitation from distant skies. These vessels now unleash concentrated rain upon carefully mapped areas, allowing rivers, lagoons, and pockets of rich flora to flourish above the absorbent sands. With the return of water and life to the region, the people of Granblac have forged a deep bond with the Blancsharks, riding them through the shifting flats as both transportation and symbol of the harmony they've restored between civilization and the wild.
