Coincaster
"From the dawn of civilization, trade has been the key to rising beyond the dark ages. It taught humanity to move beyond survival of the fittest, replacing brute strength with cooperation and exchange to fulfill both needs and desires. With the invention of the Coin, the world grew more connected — and more comfortable. Yet comfort bred greed. In this delicate balance walks the Coincaster: a mage who draws power from wealth itself, manipulating currency to influence outcomes, bargain for power, and subtly punish those who seek too much. Flourishing in a world shaped by economy, the Coincaster thrives not through excess, but by turning greed into a weapon against itself."
The Coincaster is a trader and merchant who uses the support of a Djinn, a magical being specializing in trading and financial advising. The Coincaster uses the party's coins to attack enemies, buying their way to success by using different attacks, but can also drain the wealth of the enemy, filling the party's purse. They can summon a Djinn with endless movement speed to allow for the purchase and selling of items mid-battle to any ally, though items are more expensive mid battle. The Coincaster also has heightened bartering skills, allowing the party to barter for lower prices at stores, and lowering the price of any bribe-type dialogue options.
Abilities:
Master of Gold (Passive) - You automatically are granted higher bartering skills, allowing to barter for lower prices at markets and trades, as well as allowing for lower prices for bribe-type dialogue options.
Coin Toss – You toss coins from the party's purse towards enemies. Coins will ricochet between enemies and deal damage.
Liquid Gold – You magically melt coins from the party's purse, creating a medium radius of burning liquid gold that will burn and slow any who enter.
Summon Merchant Djinn – You summon your merchant Djinn, persisting until killed or until Long Rest. The Djinn has it's own turns, and has no cap on movement speed, and can interact with allies in order to trade items, allowing for the purchase of items mid-battle. Allies may also interact with the Djinn during their turn to trade by using a bonus action.
Toll Field – If your Djinn is summoned, you may cast a spell through him that will summon a large radius of glowing gold energy that will, for 3 turns, siphon coin from any enemy that steps inside of it. All coins siphoned will be granted to the party at the end of the 3 turns, with a small tax being granted to the Djinn. If Concentration is broken on this, you only gain half of the gold siphoned.
Coincycle – For 2 turns, any coins used to attack with Coin Toss or any other coin attacks will cause the coins to fall onto the ground after the attack instead of be destroyed, allowing it to be recollected by anyone, including enemies.
Reflective Coin (Reaction) - If targeted by an enemy spell or ranged attack, you may flip a coin into the air, reflecting the spell or ranged attack back at the enemy.
Ultimate Ability – Greedstorm – You take all the coin from the enemy's purse magically, creating floating hordes of coins that can attack anyone, dropping coins on the floor after you command them to attack. During Greedstorm, if the Djinn is summoned, he may also use Coin Toss or any other coin based attacks during his turn.
