Ceraph

Ceraphs are a rare and enigmatic race of magically infused beings, born from a singular and powerful spell. Their origin traces back to a desperate act by a great mage who sought to save the Unicorns of Flaroma from extinction, as the region’s dense population of natural predators made survival nearly impossible. In a bold attempt to preserve them, the mage fused Unicorn and human DNA, allowing the creatures to take on human form and live among civilization—intended only as a temporary refuge until the wilds became safe again. But the reversal never came, and the Ceraphs remained human through the ages. As a result of their unnatural creation, their bodies suffer from a flaw that prevents them from properly breathing unfiltered oxygen, requiring them to wear specialized, gas-mask-like devices to survive in open air.
