Aether

Aether, known as Magi in Diamante, is the concentrated form of a unique mystical energy found in most of everything, including all life, elements, space, and everything that takes form, wether we can perceive it or not. This latent force, invisible to the naked eye yet deeply intertwined with life itself, can be harnessed through intense study and spiritual attunement. When channeled through specific objects — wands, staves, marbles, talismans, or even the body itself — Aether becomes the conduit for casting spells and magical phenomena.

The disciplined study of Aether, mainly with the goal in mind to harness magic, has led to the discovery of its deeper nature, allowing scientists and mages alike to work together in order to break down it's nature and better understand the elements that different Aether-infused subjects of life consist of, each representing a fundamental aspect of magic’s behavior and origin. Together, these affinities form what is known as the Arcana — the intricate structure that categorizes the many forms of Aether and magic, and defines the rules by which spells are shaped, summoned, and sustained.
