Gods and Titans

The first Gods got to work rather quick. They spoke between themselves, and agreed - the world is large - each should get a piece to do with as they please. They quickly figured that they could not create in such a manner as Celia or Karion. One made life, the other thought. The Gods could stack the matter, they could move it and shape it, but none of it was permanent - they wanted something new.

So, the 6 bravest of them spoke to Karion and Celia, and begged them to allow them to create - and they did. The pair of Titans asked Tor if he could pluck a single star from the night sky, and allow their creations to create themselves. Tor obliged happily, and he let the little Gods have their star. Karion and Celia unraveled it first, and presented them with threads of creation. The Gods made the woods, the seas and caves, mounds and mountains, and they themselves marveled at how the wisps of creation flowed from them, and how their thoughts and minds gave shape to the world around them.

Between them all, and the manner of wonders they were filling the world with, the star Tor plucked faded rather quickly. Meera noticed her brothers and sisters making all kinds of static imagery, so she took the wisps of starlight and weaved them into a tapestry of fate. In it, she wished to hold the fates of each creation. She was disappointed, as her tapestry was indeed, starkly empty. Her brother, Wiver, sought to comfort her, so he went to Celia to ask how was it she made them all - how did she imbue himself and all the rest with such drive? And Celia smiled and asked Tor for one more Star, so that she may teach consciousness to the conscious. This time, she had made merely a fraction of a fraction of her original amount, and she sifted it into a jar of starlight, and handed it to Wiver, who in turn, gave life and reason to each and every creation of his brethren. The earth itself had no desire to think, and expelled it upwards, into the grass, the trees and all that flies, crawls or walks. The sea, rivers and lakes pointed towards the celestial river Aeon had made, and said they must only move forward, or stand still, and to be conscious is to doubt and question, so they too, rejected the gift, instead letting all that swims or floats have it instead.

Meera felt joy, as her tapestry was getting new threads woven into it, and she could indeed see the fates of all that lived. Her friend, Lute, thought it to be foolish, and she combined what was left of Celia's powder with a few threads of creation to make the mortal races. She coiled and spun the thread, and sieved the Thoughtsand so that only the finest powder remained, and she poured it into the vessels made - creating Mortals. And Meera furrowed her brow, for she could no longer see the end of her tapestry.

There are many Gods today, many indeed. Lute had sung the song of reason into our minds, Wiver gave us locomotion, Meera unknowingly gave us purpose. That is without mentioning Dyr, who decided that mortal races should indeed be mortal, and gave us finality, or Woad, who sculpted nearly every single animal and plant you find and see. Kyra, who extinguished the first light. That is without mentioning who raised the first mountains, in Karion's image, or who dug the lakes, who gave us cycles and fire and weather.

In truth, Gods come and go. Most people do not know of Dyr, Woad or Kyra. New ones take their place. The wheel ever turns.
