in Mystic Mob Investigations - Case FilesThis is a collection of heavily-worn small plastic flimsies, each labeled in the upper right corner "Facts", originally written between 22 Welona 12730 and current week. It closely references events going back more than those several months -- the Crimson Knights vanished in the last quarter of 12730.
These basic notes have been scribbled down on recycled flimsiplast sheets, cut down to roughly hand-sized rectangular cards. They get marked via stylus (hopefully!), possibly with a numerical designation, certainly with the case designator and a date. They are frequently reshuffled by Jedi Knight VN Ysadora and Knight Errant Sir Davish Tam with many helpful additional notes from traveling companions.
When time and resources permit, the entire stack gets entered into the shared inventory of Mystic Mob Investigations with some edits on sensitive details, so that it can be organized into a future report to the client.
This stack of flimsiplast segments is private, but easily accessible by anyone determined to get a peek. Its only confidentiality is that it is a physical record instead of a digital one, kept in a memo pocket for one of two individuals, and will eventually be wiped clean for reuse once it is no longer relevant.
Anyone with a functional blank flimsiplast sheet and a simple ultraviolet scanner could lay the blank sheet over one of these cards, trigger a quick scan, and thus duplicate the contents onto their blank sheet without altering or damaging the original. In fact, the owners do so on a recurring basis to keep backup copies in case of "incidents". Three or four flimsicards might be arranged to fit under a single blank flimsiplast sheet of standard size without overlapping. Given that the case has run to several hundred cards already, unauthorized duplication is going to take even a fast-working droid more than half a standard hour.
Star Wars: Shards is a work of pure, unabashed fiction. In fact, it considers itself rather heroic, noble, and quite proud of itself.
