Session 15: The Riots of Nizon

General Summary

The heroes struck hard and fast as the uprising in Nizon erupted into chaos. Their first target was a guard post scrambling to call for reinforcements, a linchpin that could quickly turn the tide of the riot if allowed to succeed. Blaster fire and quick tactics scattered the garrison, but rather than simply silencing them, the heroes wove a clever ruse. With misdirection and false signals, they lured the incoming reinforcements far outside the city walls, tricking them into believing a Nazren army had gathered in the wastes. By the time the Imperials realized they had been deceived, the fighting in the city was already well beyond their control.   Wading deeper into the riot-torn streets, the heroes discovered that the Imperials had established a heavily fortified checkpoint to choke off the flow of resistance fighters. Here again, cunning won the day. With quick words and deft manipulation, the checkpoint soldiers were convinced to redeploy forward, walking straight into the heroes’ ambush. What at first seemed like a dangerous gamble soon revealed itself as a desperate fight—three AT-RT walkers lumbered into the fray, their weapons scorching the ground. The battle was tense and brutal, but through skill and grit the heroes prevailed, capturing two of the walkers and leaving the third as a smoking ruin in the dust.   Now mounted in the creaking, half-functional walkers, the heroes pushed further into the embattled city. The air shook with the thunder of heavy guns as an artillery barrage suddenly smashed into a nearby building, reducing stone and steel to rubble in moments. Screams cut through the smoke—children were trapped on the collapsing roof. Without hesitation, Droshahn charged into the inferno, scaling debris under a hail of blaster fire from stormtroopers entrenched on a nearby rooftop. The heroes split their focus, returning fire to drive back the Imperials while Droshahn pulled the children to safety. But the danger only escalated.   Two massive crab droids skittered into the streets, their heavy cannons cutting into the heroes’ captured walkers. Blaster bolts ricocheted off durasteel, the ground quaking under each mechanical stride. In the chaos, the stormtroopers fell, but the price was steep—Z1A’s walker was torn apart in an explosion of fire and shrapnel, while Droshahn was caught in a devastating blast that vaporized his left arm and left him broken on the ground. The heroes, battered but unyielding, dragged their fallen comrade and Z1A into the shelter of a nearby building, the sound of the riot still raging all around them. There, in the flickering light of a makeshift refuge, they worked frantically to stabilize the wounded, knowing the fight for Nizon was far from over.
