Session 12: Almas Academy

General Summary

Descending deeper into the ruins of the Jedi academy on Almas, the heroes managed to reactivate a long-dead lift system by cleverly wiring in a portable power pack. The elevator groaned to life, carrying them into the darkness below. Their exploration soon revealed two key chambers: a control room where power could be routed throughout the complex, and a generator room with a still-functional energy core. Leaving the astromech R5 to manage the delicate balance of power distribution, the heroes pressed onward in search of answers.   Their path led them into what had once been the academy’s library, though centuries of neglect had left it in ruin. Amid the fallen shelves and scattered debris, they uncovered a shattered marble bust, cracked open to reveal a hollow cavity where a datacron had once been hidden—but was now missing. While investigating further, they discovered a concealed doorway that opened into a narrow passage. Before they could take the first steps down, the air grew chill and oppressive, and corpses long dead suddenly twitched and rose, animated through dark Sith alchemy. A vicious battle broke out in the crumbling library as the undead lurched forward, forcing the heroes to carve their way through before finally forcing the stairwell clear.   Descending into the lower floor, the heroes found themselves in an abandoned armory. Though stripped of most valuables, they salvaged intact power packs—precious resources for their depleted weapons. With renewed strength, they pressed deeper into the academy and encountered something more dangerous than the restless dead: a group of zealots, Sith cultists who had taken root in the academy’s shadow. Their leader, a dark acolyte, wielded the Force against the heroes, but after a hard-fought clash the cultists were defeated. With the way forward now open, the party had survived the first horrors of the academy’s depths, yet the missing datacron and the lingering stain of Sith corruption hinted that the greatest dangers were still to come.
