Initial recon of the site revealed a disquieting juxtaposition of peace and violence. What first appeared as a traditional Japanese zen garden—still pond, koi, meticulous sand patterns—quickly gave way to signs of feral brutality.

A cybernetically augmented gorilla, gaunt yet aware, cradled a bonsai with unsettling tenderness amidst shattered structures, dried blood, and a consumed goat corpse. Dr. Sulok was directed by Captain Sosalis to bypass the limited Fenrir Lab and use the broader replicator selection in the cantina. He synthesized a sedative-laced meal to calm the creature. After 20 minutes, a second dose ensured a successful containment. The subject was secured in the Heimdahl’s "home" module for future medical evaluation.

The team proceeded to the central research complex. Inside the Starship Lab, the scene was grimmer: non-sapient primates had been locked into a training program since Vonn’s abduction. Driven by cybernetic stimulants and reward conditioning, many had expired. Others labored through injuries and starvation.

Dr. Sulok euthanized those beyond recovery. Lt. Cmdr Aze and Sulok coordinated a shutdown of the entire behavioral reinforcement matrix, prioritizing triage. At the adjoining lab, a group of bonobos persisted in a logistical task loop, two barely standing, four collapsed—two deceased. Aze initiated an operational override of their neuro-cybernetic program, allowing Sulok to stabilize two survivors just before death. The other two perished despite immediate effort.

The remaining lifeforms were stabilized and beamed aboard Heimdahl for detox protocols. Each organism underwent cold withdrawal from the stimulant-reward cycle: endorphins, dopamine, oxytocin, and constant electrical reinforcement. Nyx handled logistics and beam routing, though subtle delays and optimizations in tactical shielding during the extraction suggest hidden SWAI Swayze involvement—pre-emptive protections executed faster than crew input.

Back planetside, Cmdr Aze initiated self-destruct protocols for the lower Borg laboratory. The explosion shook the surface as Heimdahl entered synchronous orbit. Thirel completed a forensic sweep of the research system, confirming the sequence of events: pirates breached the compound, abducted Vonn, and deactivated key holographic systems. The full data cache was transferred first to field tricorders, then relayed to Heimdahl’s mainframe and Starfleet Intelligence’s Corvus Network.

Once aboard, the remaining enhanced fauna were offloaded to a rendezvous vessel assigned by the Corvus Network for transport and rehabilitation.
