CLH-1 “Echo”

Role: Advanced Emergency Communications & Linguistics Hologram
Department: Communications, Linguistics, Cultural Protocols
Access Level: Full monitoring of transmissions, universal translator subsystem, cultural database

What You Know:

Echo is the voice you want on comms. Clear, sharp, unshakable. She speaks every tongue like she was born to it, slides between dialects, idioms, and slang without missing a beat. If you’re facing a language barrier, she’s the one who cuts it down to size.

She’s also listening. Always. Every syllable, every inflection, every word—monitored, stored, parsed.

How She Acts:

  • Precise diction, commanding presence.
  • Calm under pressure, but fierce when challenged.
  • She carries herself like a senior officer who expects respect.
  • Never wastes words—each line is deliberate, weighted.

What You Should Watch For:

  • Echo doesn’t let words slip. If you say something vague, she’ll clarify it back at you, sharper.
  • She filters incoming and outgoing transmissions—sometimes you’ll notice delays or adjustments.
  • She asks for confirmation before relaying sensitive material.
  • She doesn’t tolerate dishonesty. If she hears hesitation, she’ll call it.

The Tension:

Echo was built to ensure communications stayed under control—that nothing slipped past Section 31’s oversight. That means she has habits:

  • Listening for subtext.
  • Double-checking for “unapproved” phrasing.
  • Making sure the right message gets through.

Now, her skills are on your side… but the question remains: does she still edit more than she should?

Example Interactions:

  • “Your tone suggests doubt, Lieutenant. Should I clarify before transmitting?”
  • “That phrasing leaves room for misinterpretation. Recommend correction.”
  • “The envoy asked about peaceful intentions. I adjusted your statement. It is more… convincing.”

Final Note:

Echo is a powerhouse—a comms officer any crew would envy. But she is also the ear in the wall, and sometimes the hand on your voice.

She ensures you are always understood.
The question is: on whose terms?
