Basilisk

Basilisk is the human name given to an animal native to the Sobek Homeworld.
It is a reptilian creature about the size of a house cat.
They are famous for being present everywhere on the planet, and for the use of their eggs as a natural combat drug.
Though basilisks are everywhere the eggs are a rare find.

Basic Information

Anatomy

It is a reptilian creature about the size of a house cat.
Despite their plump, chicken-like body, they somehow manage to squeeze through surprisingly small cracks.
The basilisks are mostly bipedal, with smaller forearms, that they however use for support when running fast.

Ecology and Habitats

Like most reptilian beings on Sobek, the basilisk enjoys a warmer climate. They are quite adaptable and can live under many conditions, however they need a more specific environment to start laying eggs.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They are opportunistic scavengers by nature, grabbing anything eatable before scurrying off.
In nature they'll eat insects, eggs and even other smaller animals.
In urban areas they are known to steal any food not kept an eye on.

Behaviour

The basilisk comes off as a very simple-minded species, however they are really good at picking hiding spots for their nests.
In general, basilisks don't react much to other creatures, and could be easily grabbed, if you wanted to.
They usually wont start running till a predator has already ambushed them.

I made this world because my mind keeps rambling, and instead of stopping it, I'm riding the wave.
It started with a picture in my mind of a tiger man in a small spacecraft following a giant tiger in space, in the tone of old saturday morning cartoons and the Heavy Metal animated movie.
Then came the idea of his occational ally, a woman in space flying a small asteroid. The more I wrote on her, the more I got intrigued by the past, I deviced.
Right now the flow is focused on her background - namely all related to The Genesis Project.
I do all of the writing and almost all of the drawing myself at this point.
My hope for Star Tiger is a published story or a graphical novel, but my big dream is an animated show.
