Elections of 1994

Political event

1994
21/8

The 1994 elections begin but are soon suspended due to escalating violence among the northern states.   The government party reorganizes itself into a transition government to redo the elections at a later date, once stability has been restored to the country.

During the led up to the 1994 election Mexico was facing massive unrest by violent uprisings, political assassinations, rampant criminal violence and an economic crisis due to government incompetence, these tensions were exacerbated by The Singularity.   The situation quickly deteriorated after the bombing of several polling stations in states favoring opposition candidates along the northern states, these events prompted the suspension of the election. After the suspension the government party reorganized itself into a transition government to celebrate elections at a later date but this only exacerbated unrest among the population as when the suspension was ordered the government party was in a distant third place in the vote and was completely incapable of winning the election.   Revolts exploded along the country demanding the transition government step down and new elections be celebrated immediately.
