Holograms and Holographic Projection
Description
Holograms and holographic projection were used regularly in ancient and modern Hyperion for a variety of purposes. Dataspheres with recorded visual and audio data can be played back using Holo-Tables. On a smaller scale, some communications devices, as well as Citizenship Marker's can display extremely short range, transmitted images of the caller or a pre-recorded image of the citizen's face.
Recorded images and video are displayed in a scaled down version of the recorded 3 dimensional space. The modern visual quality is of a fairly grainy, and in gradients of blue.
Utility
Holographic tech is used primarily in communication, data storage, and advertisements, but there have been recent attempts by up and cominig Guilds to adapt the medium to entertainment and propaganda. So far these attempts have been unsuccessful due to shortcomings in the tech, but efforts continue to be made.
While the original creator of the tech is lost to history, The Technomancer's Guild has claimed ownership over it, citing their guild's rediscovery and adaptation of the old Saikar science.
The use of holographic technology is spread thoroughly throughout the population nof the The Occupied Territories
