Harbinger Class Destroyers

Description

One of the largest class of Imperial warships, the Harbinger class were equipped with Ley Field Accelerator's and served two primary purposes. The first was as rapid military response vessels, with the capacity to perform independent astral jumps from anywhere in a system to combat immediate military threats. The second purpose was as advanced strike vessels. A large fleet operation or system invasion was always heralded by the arrival of one or more Harbinger class ships, which would soften planetary defenses and engage defensive fleets ahead of the slower fleets containing Hammerfall Class Landers and Lancer Class Frigate's.

Harbinger class ships were designed to invoke terror in those that saw their arrival, with sharp edges, dark metal exteriors and intimidating red painted patterns. They bore a wide arsenal of highly destructive weaponry, as well as stealth and cloaking technologies, and stealth reconnaissance snub-nose ships.
