Welcome to the Spellblazers campaign.
This is a Dungeons and Dragons (2024) campaign set in the Spelljammer setting, bringing in story elements inspired by the anime StarBlazers. In the particular sector of Astral Space, a dwarven culture called the Hurikami (Japanese Samuari-dwarf mashup) have been under seige by the Neogi Empire, who are bombarding the Hurikami home planet with asteroids.
The player characters will be a mix of races and skills, neogi slaves who are rescued by the Hurikami. It will start in an asteroid slave mine with the characters being released from their bonds, and take off at a run from there.
Character Creation.
We will start with first level characters built from the 2024 PHB and some supplemental material.
- Classes: Any 2024 PHB Classes and subclasses. When you pick spells, please be sure to pick 2024 spells. I should note -- since the primary plot engine of the campaign will be the The Yamato and her crew, who are predominantly Hurikami dwarves, a PC who is a dwarf might have some soft social advantages during the campaign.
- Background: Any 2024 PHB background. These are packaged with an origin feat and the attribute adjustments appropriate to that background. If you really want a different background, let me know what you want and we can work on making a custom version.
- Species: Any 2024 PHB Species, Spelljammer Species. I'm also open to Monsters of the Multiverse species, but let me know what you're thinking.
- Starting Gear: Go ahead and purchase your starting gear. When I create your characters in Fantasy Grounds I will not include that equipment at the start because you're starting as slaves, but at some point you'll be able to arrange to equip yourselves.
I will be (trying) to use this website to track information about the campaign -- sessions, events, backstory, characters and npcs.
