Events of X-men first class was when Gretal was travelling the world, enjoying the peace she gave the universe.

Charles meets CIA agent and is enlisted to help them stop Shaw from causing nuclear destruction. Charles loses his legs and Raven.   Meanwhile in space, Gretal travels around the world to enjoy the peace but peace cannot last forever and due to an accident that costs millions of lives, including the person she was trying to stop, she figured that bad luck followed her wherever she go.   She planned to end her life but was stopped by Ku who was warned that she would do such a thing by Sammantha but she had to keep it a secret. She sends Gretal home after much difficulty.
