Rebel Fleet
The People's Fleet, or the Rebel Fleet is a migratory starship fleet dedicated to opposing the Colonial Earth Empire and its allies in the Mid Rim. It is supplied and supported by a combination of the Pacifica Liberation Front, the Ungratefuls, and elements of the Dragon Resistance. The People's Fleet has proven a regular thorn in the side of the Imperial Navy, regularly attacking Imperial assets that have over-extended into the Mid Rim. The small agile force has regularly been able to strike where the Empire is weak.
The Fleet regularly harbors leaders and senior members of the various resistance movements scattered throughout the mid rim. Advisors from the Vanguard Revolutionary Forces train and help the People's Fleet. While it is small and agile, it is still only one fleet and the Empire continues to ruthlessly hunt them. The Fleet is a way for the resistance to coordinate across dozens of systems, and thousands of rebel cells.
Structure
The Fleet is primarily organized as a para-military organization, headed by a military council, who is checked by a Chancellor who is voted in by the Fleet. The current leaders of the fleet are Admiral Zhurov and Chancellor Nadra. The fleet also has three supporting department; diplomacy, intelligence and logistics. Each department is headed by an elected minister, usually a representative of one of the many resistance organizations that rely on and support the fleet. While there is seemingly a regimented and organized structure to the fleet, it is highly fluid. Constant attrition and losses means that leaders and officers are in constant states of change. When it comes to strategic matters, the fleet must defer to a vote of the council, with tie-breakers being broken by the Chancellor.
The fleet often is split up into smaller strike groups, so that if they are caught, the entire fleet is not lost in one engagement. Some of these squadrons, like Green, Red and Blue have become famous for their participation in famous resistance battles. The majority of ground units are mostly focused on anti-piracy or rapid assault drops. They have access to several mechs and gunships, though the rebel fleet mostly relies on local ground forces to handle their operations planetside.
Rebel Starfighters
Rebel starship wings are usually broken up into smaller squadrons. These squadrons are either paired with a larger strike group, or they are assigned a localized region where they are meant to operate out of. Usually, they are regularly employed assisting local resistance groups, offering air support and heavy ordanance when it is needed. Most of these squadrons are supported by locals, with food, equipment and spare parts. They are the most visible section of the people's fleet.Assets
The People's Fleets gets their weapons, starships, and equipment from many different sources. These sources range from generous donators from the Republican Remnant to direct ships provided by the Union. They recruit solely from already established rebel cells, like the Dragons or the PLF, and they are notoriously strict about who is allowed near the fleet.
Their starships range from stolen Imperial warships to casino yatchs armed with bolted-on weapons. While the ship regularly travels through the Mid Rim, they regularly anchor in Parvus. They use IPS-N T31 "Spear" Heavy Fighter and IPS-N I28 "Stiletto" Interceptors as their primary strike fighters.
