Great sword of ultimate sacrifice

This Weapon functions as a +3 Greatsword (Requires attunement by a good creature)   This weapon was forged by one of the great gods of old, made to be a paragon of pure good serving others through its wielder. It is given by a celestial being to a person who is deemed worthy to wield it. After that creature dies, the weapon stays in the world it was brought to to be passed down to the next worthy person who finds it.   Sentient magic item 60 ft blind sight, 60ft telepathy Int, Wis, Cha of the creature who wielded it in life. The soul possessing this item knows of a creature holding it is good or evil, and automatically succeeds any wisdom (insight) checks to tell if a creature is lying.   This weapon has 7 charges. You may expend one charge to do one of the following. The weapon regains 1d6+1 charges daily at dawn.   Take the blow Whenever a creature within 5ft of you is hit by an attack, you may use a reaction to swap places with that creature and the attack targets you instead, potentially causing it to miss. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.   Intercede Whenever a creature within 30ft of you fails a saving throw against something that only targets that creature, you may force it to target you and reroll the save with advantage, potentially causing yourself to succeed the save.   Sacrificial regeneration You touch one creature within five feet of you with the flat of your sword. When you do so, they regain hitpoints equal to up to your level rounded down. You take necrotic damage equal to the hitpoints restored plus half your level. This damage cannot be reduced in any way.   The next property of the weapon only recharges once every one hundred years.   Ultimate Sacrifice You may use this property of the weapon within 5 minutes of your death, as long as the Greatsword of Ultimate Sacrifice’s previous wielder allows you too. Whenever a creature allied you is reduced to zero hitpoints or dies, you may use this feature to gain the following benefits for 1 minute.   If you were dead when you activated this property, you return to life with full hitpoints and end any effect that prevents you from regaining hitpoints. You are under the effects of the haste, fly, and holy aura spells. You do not need to maintain concentration to gain these benefits. When this feature activates, any allied creatures who died within the last minute are brought back to life with 1hp. If any allied creatures were at 0hp but not dead, they are brought back to half their hitpoints. Creatures affected by this feature end any effect that prevents them from regaining hitpoints before healing in this way. It is your turn, even if it was another creatures turn when you activated this property. You are a celestial for the duration of this ability, in addition to your other creature types. You are unaffected by any other spell or feature that would prevent time from passing for you   1 minute after using this feature, you instantly die. Your soul becomes trapped in the blade, replacing the previous soul, which, completing its service, is permanently destroyed. You gain the benefits of the sentient magic item property of this weapon, but you are the one who controls it. You may never be resurrected by any means, including a wish spell. Instead, a wish spell may be used to allow the soul currently in the sword to pass on to the afterlife. They still may not be revived in any way, even after casting that spell. The soul remains in the sword until it chooses a successor, and then may go to the afterlife if the wish spell is cast on it, or is destroyed if it is not.

History

This artifact was last possessed by a king of old, who used it in the battle against Erawan to finally defeat him. His soul was trapped in the blade by its Ultimate Sacrifice property, and he now chooses creatures who can attune to it and gives them council (He sounds like yoda)

Significance

This blade is recognized by all servants of evil as a weapon that makes no sense, a confounding paradox. Why would someone willingly take harm for someone else’s benefit? As such, Wiser evil creatures such as dragons may wish to take the sword from its wielder to unveil its “secrets”
