Giants
This race is not playable by PC
Giants, towering figures that stand well over a hundred feet tall, are a race of immense strength and endurance. They have lived in the mountains of Sorum since the dawn of time, having originated from the harsh winter climate to the north of the continent. Their physical attributes, such as their thick skin and incredible strength, make them perfectly suited for the cold and unforgiving mountain terrain.
Despite their imposing stature, giants are a peaceful race. They typically live solitary lives, preferring the quiet and serenity of their mountain homes. However, they are fiercely protective of their territory and will not hesitate to defend themselves against intruders. Giants are also long-lived, with some individuals living for several centuries. This extended lifespan allows them to accumulate vast amounts of knowledge and experience, making them wise and patient.
Giants have a strong emphasis on wisdom and age in their culture. When a giant reaches 100 years of age, they undergo a coming of age ceremony where they spend the next 10 years of their life meditating in silent solidarity. This period of reflection and contemplation allows the young giant to develop their wisdom and intuition, preparing them for a life of leadership and guidance within their community.
Due to their long lifespan and accumulated knowledge, giants become very adept at magic, although they rarely use it. Giants view magic as a sacred art that is far too powerful to be used by any mortal being. They believe that only the gods have the wisdom and understanding to properly wield such immense power.
Giants used to have a population in the hundreds of thousands, but after the Irium marked them as threats to human kind during the era of peace, their population was decimated down to the hundreds. Since then, they have been quietly biding their time in the Titan's End Mountains of Sorum, avoiding conflict and living in peace.
