Polymath
Brilliant minds traditionally lead the Ekur-Kadû guild from ancestries with no innate magical talent. Despite this, a number of magic-wielding students do enroll, and their presence, while rare, is often surprisingly useful, providing perspectives and applications that blend arcane potential with rigorous logic and invention.
Recursive brilliance, modular thinking, and quantum intuition. A polymath doesn’t specialize—they adapt, evolve, and reinvent, becoming a walking nexus of invention.
(3rd Level)
Spark of the Polymath
Your curiosity defies limits.
- You gain proficiency in one tool and one language of your choice.
- Whenever you complete a long rest, you may swap one cantrip you know or replace one infused item with another from your Infuse Item list.
- You learn minor illusion and detect magic. These are Artificer spells for you and do not count against your number of spells known.
(5th Level)
Quantum Design
You’ve cracked the secret of adaptive invention.
- Choose one infused item to become modular.
- During a short or long rest, you may reshape this item—changing its appearance, form, and function.
- Example: A Goggles of Night could become a spectral projector, or a bag of holding could become a compartmentalized drone.
- Mechanical effects remain similar unless your DM permits minor alterations to match the flavor.
Additionally, you can now maintain one extra infused item beyond your normal limit.
(9th Level)
Inspiration Engine
Your mind spins faster than the world can track.
- When you roll initiative, gain Inspiration Charges equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum 1).
- As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge to do one of the following:
- Brilliant Action: Gain advantage on one Intelligence, Wisdom, or tool-based ability check within the next minute.
- Calculated Pressure: Until the start of your next turn, creatures have disadvantage on the next saving throw against a spell you cast.
- Inventive Reflex: Use a reaction to reduce the damage of one source by your Artificer level + Int mod (minimum 1).
Charges reset at the end of a long rest.
(15th Level)
Master of Possibility
You’ve seen every outcome—and found the one that matters.
- Once per long rest, when you fail an attack roll, saving throw, or ability check, you may declare a Recalculation:
- Treat the roll as if you had rolled a natural 20.
- Immediately after this, you may cast blur or mirror image (your choice) without expending a spell slot, representing your reality diverging.
Optional Subclass Spell List: Polymath
