Coñeco Shadowroot
The Shadowroots are silent gardeners of fear and death, descending from the Coñeco culture’s secretive warrens and herbal traditions. Masters of camouflage, control, and psychological warfare, they use natural terrain and plant-based toxins to manipulate and destroy their foes, quietly.
(3rd Level)
Greenveil Camouflage
Your movements become one with the roots and undergrowth.
- While in dim light, natural terrain, or magical darkness, you can Hide as a bonus action.
- You gain advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks in those conditions.
- If you spend 1 minute or more in an area before combat begins, you may designate it as your Territory. While inside this 30-foot radius, you may reroll 1s on Stealth and Perception checks.
Verdemarrow Venom
You craft and apply herbal neurotoxins harvested from your ancestral roots.
- As a bonus action, you may coat a weapon or trap with Verdemarrow Venom, which lasts 1 minute.
- A creature hit by a weapon coated in this venom must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier).
- On a failure, they suffer:
- Disadvantage on Concentration checks.
- -1 penalty to spell attack rolls for 1 minute.
- You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
(6th Level)
Rootcraft Trapper
You learn to bind magic and botany into glyph-traps.
- As an action, you may place a Rootglyph Trap in a 5-foot space within reach.
- A creature entering the space must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier) or trigger one of the following effects (your choice):
- Snare: Target is restrained until the end of its next turn.
- Dazzlespore: Target has disadvantage on Perception checks and Initiative rolls for 1 minute.
- Grasping Ivy: The 5-foot space becomes difficult terrain for 1 minute.
- You can maintain up to 3 traps at once. Traps last 1 hour or until triggered.
(10th Level)
Mycelial Recall
You tap into a hidden network of fungal memory.
- Once per short rest, when you hit a creature with an attack while hidden, you may teleport up to 30 feet to a previously defined hiding space within line of sight (this must be within your Territory).
- Additionally, you can no longer be tracked by nonmagical means unless you choose to leave a trail.
(14th Level)
Garden of No Return
You turn your Territory into a living trap, blooming with deadly silence.
While inside your Territory, you may designate up to 3 terrain features (trees, roots, rocks, shadows, etc.) to become your Dead Zone for 1 minute. While in the Dead Zone:
- You are invisible while not moving or attacking.
- Enemies provoke opportunity attacks even when Disengaging.
- When you deal Sneak Attack damage, the target is unable to speak or cast spells until the end of its next turn (no save).
You can use this feature once per long rest.
