Eimí; or 'Essence Pools'.
Eimí are a race of sentient alien beings like C'tan; manifesting as long vein like creatures which keep the Metaphysical and Physical together with their tethers, like the veins of an egg. In locations where these 'veins' clip into reality and manifest they form into that of a Essence Pool. Observation of these pools prove many things. They are well aware and understanding of material life, and even find some sort of kinship with them, choosing to manifest Dreamlandic 'thrones' for individuals to rule from.
Consuming parts of a willing Eimí will create that which is known as a 'Xian' most known within the Xian Monastery made an supported by god Morax. A Xian is a individual who has been given a portion of the power of the Eimí via a small taste/blessing. Some Eimí are more willing to give their blessings than others. Generally the smaller the Eimí, the less likely they will be giving their blessings.
Interestingly, their 'liquid' can turn from safe to touch, to extremely acidic, to touch-and-kill at whim should these creatures be aware of themselves. Some of the conciousness are 'underdeveloped' and often described as 'simple' and 'more accepting' than others.
However 'Horizon Eimí' such as Love, have been noted to be extremely mature and very aware of the power their thrones hold.
Eimí can be technically contacted from any of their avalible pools. Eimí reproduction seems to be extremely complicated, and almost is said to happen similar to a 'water balloon being popped in reverse.' In that; some parts of them just seem to manifest when the veins begin to expose themselves to one another. This alien form of reproduction is not understood what so ever; but many theories have come up of the idea they are not reproducing but more so 'trading' things that have fallen into one anothers greater mass to 'repair' themselves.
A Eimí 'Throne' is almost like taking over the motor functions of these alien entities. Which is why they seek out individuals they can relate to; making their chosen ruler a extension of themselves. If a Eimí truly 'chooses' you, it will likely fuse with you completely; spawning part of its pool in your blood stream, and merging with you. The most obvious example being that of Troubadour; or Carys Mccarthy, a Trutha De Dannan (A dreamland entity) whom was chosen to rule over the Eimí of Love.
It is possible that these creatures were some sort of lesser lifeform, or prey by C'tans, since many C'tans seem to naturally have the impulse to eat of consume parts of these things. Either way; the crystals that are produced by Alim seem to be described by the more sentient and communicative Eimí as being 'Asleep.' What exactly they mean by this isn't completely understood.
