The Islands of Berwen (ber-win)

Berwen has been ruled by the Ainsley family in the city of Ashbourne for centuries, only for the entirety of the monarchy to land on the shoulders of the last surviving member, Crown Prince Gabriel Ainsley. The nation is also home to Lorwick Island, home to pirates and the supposed descendants of the hero Doctor Morley. Morley is known for his part in curing a deadly plague that nearly devastated the two villages that eventually grew to form the city of Yonna. Stoneport is considered the nation’s main port city, notable for its canals.   After years of a dwindling family tree, the entirety of Berwen falls on the shoulders of the soon-to-be-coronated Crown Prince Gabriel Ainsley. Unfortunately for both the young heir and his people, however, Ainsley could not be less interested in ruling a nation. The task of keeping him in line falls to his steward and confidant, Goshawk Morley.

Mythology & Lore

Amicia [ ah - mee - she - ah ] the Apothecary and Doctor Sarcus Morley [ sar - kuss more - lee ] were an apothecary and doctor during a historic plague. Amicia is symbolized by the color magenta, the month of Ferrun, and an hourglass - or sand from one. Doctor Morley is symbolized by the color gray, the month of Payne, and a mask - especially ones with an elongated nose. They are dual patron heroes of the town of Yonna, in Berwen, where the plague supposedly originated.
