Dr. Johannes Gortham, often referred to simply as Gortham (pronounced Gort-ham), is an explorer, researcher, and radio personality, made popular by his award-winning radio show "Gortham Goes Beyond". He is eccentric and regarded as an authority on biology, botany, zoology, meteorology, and geography, despite having only a degree in psychology. He currently lives alone in Whitebrook.

Gortham is stalky, slightly tall, and very quick on the move. He has excellent eyesight and a quick reaction time to match. He is considered by most to be handsome.

Personal history

Gortham was born in Luna City to a wealthy family of clock makers in the year 3783. He had two siblings, a brother called Niko and a sister called Heleena. His mother was called Lyvli and it was she who principally made the clocks. Gortham's father Matteus was an inventor and explorer who is responsible for the invention of car radio*. Gortham's own childhood was lavish and educational. He often travelled with his father on his expeditions. Gortham frequently cites his fathers influence on him during his broadcast. When Gortham turned fifteen he left with his sister to attend Luna Academy. He pursued a degree in psychology and Sociology but left with only a psychology degree. Dr. Gortham has not said why that is. After his five years at the academy were over and he had his degree, he left to pursue a radio show in Atlas but was turned down repeatedly. After which he was struck with financial hardship and forced to move in with his sister, in Artinia. At twenty three he moved out again to live in solitude in the south hills of Luna. There he informally studied the wildlife on his own for a year before joining a naturalist group in their study of the wilderness. When he was twenty-eight he left the group and moved back to Atlas. There he successfully launched his first radio show, "Magicks Of The Land". It aired for one year but failed to gain listenership and was cancelled. for the next five years Gortham would live in the city doing freelance tinkering, until 3816, when he made the now famous bet. Gortham made a bet with the CEO of ( ) that if he could start a show and keep it going for two years ( ) would sponsor him. If he failed to keep the show Gortham would never be allowed to pitch to them again, and the show that won the bet? Gortham Goes Beyond! Following in his father's footsteps he set out to the island of Findo and began relaying his findings on air. The show was very well received. Since its conception it has won Best Broadcast Award twice and launched Dr. Gortham into stardom. Now a household name, he continues to broadcast every Wednesday 7:00-9:00, from the radio station in Whitebrook.
